Pre-Kindergarten at Cunningham Elementary

Cunningham Elementary is proud to offer a full-day Prekindergarten program designed to give four-year-old children a strong start. Our program helps students learn, grow, and become school ready for kindergarten in a nurturing and engaging environment.

We are proud to offer full-day Pre-Kindergarten programs at the following additional campuses: Booker T. Washington, Brook Village, Burgess, Cunningham, Fain, Fowler, Ben Milam, Scotland Park, Sheppard, and Southern Hills.

Eligibility Requirements

To enroll in the Prekindergarten program, a child must be four years old on or before September 1 of the upcoming school year.

Students are eligible if they meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Limited English proficiency
    Unable to speak or comprehend English
    (Contact Amanda Gonzales at 940-235-1000 for testing.)
  • Educationally disadvantaged
    Eligible for the National School Lunch Program
    (Income documentation such as pay stubs or a SNAP letter is required.)
  • Military family (active duty)
    Child of an active-duty member of the U.S. Armed Forces, including state military forces or reserve components
  • Military family (injured or deceased)
    Child of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
  • Foster care
    Currently in, or previously in, the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services
